Made in the likeness of the Labatt Mini Stanley Cups, the Hartford Whalers was not originally made as part of the set. Always a cellar dweller in the Norris division first, then Adams and eventually Northeast division, Hartford in 1987 won the Adams division. Then got beat in the opening round.
Fun fact: considering the number of great players the Whalers had in the 80's and 90's, they only had one 50 goal scorer. He tied for the NHL scoring title that year with 56 goals. Blaine Stoughton.
